The Founder of SKM Steels Limited, Shri Kirtilal Moolchand Shah was born and brought up in Bhandotra, a remote village in Gujarat. Having interest in entrepreneurship he started his career in 1969 and set up a partnership firm viz. M/s.Shah Kirtilal Moolchand & Co., for dealing in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Over the years his steely determination has proliferated the company’s strength by excelling in manufacturing, imports, exports and trading of raw as well as finished stainless steel products, making it a one stop shop for stainless steel products. The company was reconstituted as public limited company in 1994 as SKM Steels Limited. His perseverance paid off and today the group has diversified into various business activities which have helped the industry grow as a whole.

All this would not have been possible without the able guidance and stewardship of Shri Kirtilal Shah. He developed the knack of identifying the right person for the right job and entrusted them with the responsibilities to handle the business on their own and providing overall guidance when needed. Even today he is the motivating source of inspiration and is the key factor in decision making. He has given total freedom to the concerned people with a reporting responsibility and concrete results within a pre-determined time frame. He believes that the credit for the success and growth achieved by SKM goes to the entire team which includes the employees, customers, dealers, etc, to his parents and to God Almighty.

His journey from a humble origin to being a successful industrialist and a philanthropist is a great source of inspiration for generations to come.
